If you are new to RefWorks, please sign up for the new RefWorks 3.  We are still learning how to use it and are putting together new documentation. Some basic information to help you get started is below;

NOTE: If you are an NPS student, faculty or staff member that is currently using RefWorks, please read our Upgrade Information for Current RefWorks users prior to deciding whether to upgrade.

RefWorks will no longer support RefWorks 2 (Legacy) after 2018. So be sure to plan accordingly! Ask us if you need additional guidance.

RefWorks is a web based citation management tool that you can access from any internet connected computer.

You can:

  • Add citations from Library databases, the web, or manually
  • Organize your citations into folders
  • Annotate your citations with personal notes
  • Add citations and reference lists, formatted in any style, into MS Word
