Citation Tools

Reference management tools can help you:

  • Import and organize citations from article databases and websites
  • Reuse citations in multiple papers and/or different citation styles
  • Use word processor plug-ins to insert citations and build bibliographies
  • Newer products may allow you to:
    • directly search databases from within the tool;
    • upload, annotate and take notes on pdfs
    • share references with others
  • create a backup of your references to import into another program.
