The following DSAG dataset is available to NPS faculty and students for educational and research purposes.

Automatic Identification System (AIS)

The DSAG hosts a large trove of AIS data, which is available to NPS faculty and students for educational and research purposes. The AIS dataset consists of vessel tracking information. Some of this information is static, such as the vessel’s call sign, name, dimensions, and MMSI, but the dataset also contains dynamic information, such as time, speed over ground, course over ground, latitude, and longitude. This dataset can be harnessed to gain insight into vessel behavior, among other things.
