Historic Hotel Del Monte Tour Guide

Today's Herrmann Hall is also the historic Hotel Del Monte. This 1926 artist's illustration captures the resort's allure. 

Del Monte is a blend of 19th Century Swiss Gothic and 20th Century Spanish Revival designs.

The illustration shows the distinguishing loggia of the main building along and high-pitched roofs and dormers on the 1887 wings. 

The Swiss Gothic hotel was designed by Arthur Brown, Sr. This an eastern view from 1888.

This 1920 aerial provides a view of the buildings connected by the fireproof arcades. The Roman Plunge swimming pool, built in 1915, is to the right.
